Married with two sons, Chris studied Marine and Wildlife Biology at Canterbury University, spent time in Antarctica researching marine food chains, later managing a salmon hatchery at Lake Coleridge. He subsequently studied at Stirling University, (Scotland) 1985, earning a Masters in Aquaculture and Fisheries Management. Only the third New Zealander to attend the prestigous aquaculture school, Chris was awarded the Royal Agricultural Society medal for the best overall performance of the 1984 class. Chris then worked in the Scottish salmon farming industry (Isle of Lewis - including managing Pairc Salmon, Sunderland Marine's first aquaculture policy), spent time in India on a trout farming project and in Greece working with Bass and Bream farms, before joining Sunderland Marine in 1990. He returned to NZ in 1996 and was appointed MD of the NZ branch in 2003.  Chris is also a director of the Melbourne office, being responsible for the Australian Aquaculture portfolio. When time allows, he enjoys tramping, fishing and mountain biking with family and friends.
