During 2008 our managers have participated in a number of company meetings and wider trade activities. The first of these was an 'in-house' management meeting held in Brisbane, April 20th to 22nd, involving our Seattle, Cairns, Perth, Melbourne, Nelson and UK offices. We also hosted lawyers from both sides of the Tasman, where, using a workshop type approach, a varied number of case histories were examined and discussed. The common goal is to ensure that as a Company, Sunderland Marine maintain a consistent approach to dealing with our membership and can continue to provide the best possible legal support in respect of claims and other issues as they arise. It is not often one can get lawyers to agree, but we think we did a pretty good job. More recently (September), Chris Kennedy joined the Australian Managers in Darwin, at the annual NIBA conference. Our Australian Branch Managers are pictured below L-R Brian Johnston (Melb), John McGregor (Perth), Michael Gristwood (Melb) and Lisa Ryan (Cairns).

The annual Insurance Brokers Association of NZ, (IBANZ), annual Conference, Propel, took place on the Gold Coast this year, running from the 14th to the 16th August. Sunderland Marine were there for the third year running. Represented by Matt Allsopp, Chris Barrett and Chris Kennedy. Sunderland Marine are continually trying to increase our portfolio of risks and marketing to the wider broker community is proving very beneficial to the achievement of this. We were pleased to present two fine bottles of Malt to lucky draw winners that attended the stand. 2010 will see us at the Auckland venue.
